MARIAN ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES, Puthuppady
Marian Library manages the college's research collection of electronic, print resources. In addition to more than 4600 Books, the Library offers 12/6 on- and access to general and discipline-specific online resources containing abstracts, full-text articles, e-journals and e-books. Student with a valid ID card may borrow materials from the library. New building will be furnished before March 2012, available in 300sqm contains 80 chairs 10 Reading table, 21 Shelves, 2 Magazine racks, Printer, Scanner, Photostat Machine, 3 multimedia PC etc…

Library Catalogue is an online database of materials held by a library . Users search a library catalog principally to locate books and other material physically located at a library.

(b)  J-Gate
J-Gate Social & Management Sciences (JSMS)
J-Gate is an electronic gateway to global e-journal literature. Launched in 2001 by Informatics India Limited, J-Gate provides seamless access to millions of journal articles available online offered by 8,750 + Publishers. Presently it has a massive database of journal literature, indexed from 26,830+ e-journals with links to full text at publisher sites. J-Gate also plans to support online subscription to journals, electronic document delivery, archiving and other related services. It offers bibliographic information services to scholarly and technical electronic journal literature. J-Gate Social & Management Sciences (JSMS) is a subset of J-Gate and indexes e-journals in the fields of Electronics, Electrical, Civil, Information Technology, Computer science etc. Journal coverage: 6700 Indexed, 2000 free full text

NPTEL provides E-learning through online Web and Video courses in Engineering, Science and humanities streams. The mission of NPTEL is to enhance the quality of Engineering education in the country by providing free online courseware.
(d)  Mail Service
Library serves as informer in current information providing through e-mail.
(e)  Question Paper
Library provides Question paper of past ten years in hard and soft copy form.
(f)   Syllabus
Library Kept syllabus for searching information related to the exam point of view.
(g)  Journal Articles
This service is available through digital library
(h)  Lecture notes
This service is available through digital library

The World Wide Web Virtual Library was the first index of content on the World Wide Web and still operates as a directory of e-texts and information sources on the web   Virtual Library links other useful sites related to MBA Courses.

LIBRARY RULES

Following are the Library guidelines which must be followed in and around the Library.
·         Silence must be observed in and around the library.
·         Books and personal belongings should not be taken into the library(one note book may be taken into the reading room).Keep your belongings n the Property Counter.
·         . Issued books should  be kept into the Property counter
·         Students on entering should record their details in the visitors register.
·         All types of combine studies and group discussions are prohibited in the library.
·         Those who need guest user (outsiders) membership have to get prior permission from principal/manager of the college, along with a reference from higher authority of the respective institution.
·         Students visiting the library should show, on demand, their identity card to the library staff without which library services may be refused to them. Identity Cards are non transferable
·         Use of laptops, Mobile Phone, Music Items etc. is strictly prohibited in the library.
·         Students are expected to co-operate with the staff/ students Library assistant who is in charge of the section.
·         Any complaints regarding the library services and staff/student library assistant should be first informed to Librarian.
·         Book Issue
    1. First Year : 3 books
    2. Second Year : 5 books

·         Whenever a student has to get a ‘no dues’ certificate from the library he/she has to surrender all library books, college identity card to the library.
·         To borrow books form the library, find out the required book with the help of online catalogue or with the assistance of library staff. Then handover the book along with your identity card to library staff to imprint the due date label and issue the book.
·         Members must, on receiving the books,   examine them and report to the library staff any damage found therein. If they fail to do so they will be held responsible for any damage detected afterwards. The person will have to pay thrice the amount cost of the material for replacing the same.
·         A book borrowed should be returned on or before the date last marked on its date label..if the due date falls on a holyday ,the books should be returned on the next working day. An overdue charge of Rs.1 will be levied for each day. No fine will be levied at the time of University Exam (Date of Exam declared to Exam Time)..
·         Those who took books from the library are not expected to make any markings or underlining in the books and periodicals belonging to the library. Tearing of pages from books/ any damage caused to any library belonging will be viewed  as serious matter. In case one book of a set is damaged, the whole set must be replaced.
·         When a borrowed book is lost by a member he/she must report the matter to the librarian immediately, Otherwise he/she will have to pay not only the cost of replacing the book but also the fine accumulated until the book is returned.
·         The librarian can refuse to issue the same book to same user repeatedly if it is necessary   material for others. Books cannot be returned or re – issued on the same date of issue or return.Book should not be issued /return at the time of power failure.
·         The maximum loan period for a particular book will be 21 days .CD ROM and other reference materials will be issued only in inside the library.
·         Project reports, thesis etc will not be issued or to any person at any circumstances and not allowed to photocopying..
·         Rare books, books of very high cost art book etc may not be issued for use outside the library.
·         The librarian can recall from a borrower any book at any time.
·         Any type of misbehaviour inside the library toward staff/ students library assistants/ fellow user will be viewed seriously.
·         All services of the library may be suspended to any one violating the rules of the library. The Director is authorized to terminate the membership of any borrower if he/ she are found guilty of misbehaviour on the recommendation of the Librarian
·         Faculty members are supposed to renew the books issued to them once in a month.
·         After reading books and magazine, should be replaced at its proper place..Reading news paper is allowed only at Newspaper Table.
·         Never bring any food items inside the library. Do not misplace chair and Keep the library clean and neat.
·         Use Digital Library only for education purposes. not allowed to insert  Pen Drive .
